Girl Scout Destinations

Destinations Applications

Complete your online application well in advance of the deadlines. For Round 1, complete your application by November 15, so that your references have time to finish their section by the Round 1 deadline: December 1. For Round 2, complete it by February 1, so your references can finish by the Round 2 deadline: February 15. After February 15, applications are open on a rolling basis. If you are applying after February 15, before you apply, call or email the Destination’s contact person for each trip to make sure there is still space. If you have problems completing your application, email destinations@girlscouts.org.

We recommend that you complete and save the Destinations Application Worksheet first to prepare your application, and then cut and paste the data into the online application.

Participant Selection Timeline

November 15, 2018

It is recommended that girls have their applications complete so that their references can complete their section by the December 1 official deadline.

December 1, 2018

Girl deadline to have her application AND references complete in online system.

December 7, 2018

Council approvals are complete. All Round 1 applications are now received by event hosts.

December 21, 2018

Last date for hosts to notify Round 1 applications of their status. All notices must be sent out by this date.

January 11, 2019

All deposits holding a Round 1 participants’ spot are due to event hosts.

January 15, 2019

Destination hosts report to GSUSA to determine remaining spaces.

February 1, 2019

It is recommended that girls have their applications complete so that their references can complete their section by the February 15 official deadline.

February 15, 2019

Girl deadline to have her application AND references complete in the online system.

February 22, 2019

Council approvals are complete. Round 2 applications received by event hosts. After February 22nd, Destination hosts may choose to accept additional applications on a rolling application basis.

March 4, 2019

Last date to notify Round 2 applications of their status. All notices must be sent out by this date.

March 18, 2019

All Round 2 applicants’ deposits are due to event hosts.

March 20, 2019

Hosts report to GSUSA. Applications will remain open until spaces are filled or Destination host decides to close admissions. 2020 Destinations that are not filled will be re-posted in August 2019. 

Applications After Round 2 Deadline

Most sponsors who still have space for Destinations will to continue to accept applications on a rolling basis until trips are full or recruitment is closed.
