How to Register as a Girl Scout Volunteer

Are you ready to join? Follow the process below to start your volunteer journey!
Enter in information to search for a volunteer opportunity in your local area.
Select the role that interests you and proceed with purchasing your Girl Scouts membership.
Please note that all Girl Scouts volunteers are required to complete a criminal background check. Background checks are at no cost to volunteers and do not require the use of a social security number. Background checks are completed every three years and are subject for review under the guidance of Girl Scouts River Valleys Volunteer Eligibility Policy.
If you are interested in becoming a Girl Scouts Service Unit volunteer, follow the same instructions as outlined in the register as a volunteer section.
Volunteers interested in a Service Unit role are also asked to complete a role consultation with a staff member to ensure the right role is selected. Upon completing a role consultation, you will submit the Volunteer Position Agreement Form.
Once you are officially in your new role, you will have the opportunity to view the Service Unit Orientation and learn more about what to expect for your volunteer role.

Transfer from Another Girl Scout Council
If you have been a volunteer in a different Girl Scout council and will be moving to the Girl Scouts River Valleys area, contact us to initiate the transfer of your membership. Please provide us your new home address and information about how you plan to participate in Girl Scouts.
