Grades 6-12: Whether you're brand new to birdwatching or you're an avian expert, this club is for you! Led by a naturalist, Girl Scouts and their adults will learn about local birds, go over some birdwatching strategies and tips, explore the park in search of interesting birds, then come together as a group to make a bird list and identify any unknown species. Each session will wrap up with a creative reflection activity. You'll develop some bird ID skills, meet other Girl Scouts with common interests, explore a local park, and hopefully walk away with a new hobby to enjoy!

Flight Club will meet once a month from May-September, exploring a different park in the Twin Cities area each time. Each event will highlight a different birdwatching technique, interesting bird behavior (migration, nesting, etc.), and conservation topic. Join us for one, two, or all five of the hikes in this engaging series. The birds we'll see are very different from month to month, so no two hikes are the same!

Please bring your own binoculars if you have them. If not, no worries-we will have some available to borrow.

This program is designed for Girl Scouts to attend with a parent, troop leader, or other adult.

Included: Birdwatching fun patch, take-home bird ID sheet, snack

Adult/Youth Ratio: This is an Adult & Me program, an opportunity for a youth member to attend with their favorite adult. An adult is required to register and participate in the program.
