Partnered with She Rock She Rock, kids and their adult enjoy an
overnight experience learning the art of songwriting together. Gather
around the campfire for a jam session, participate together in
songwriting workshops, and enjoy the outdoor inspiration. Celebrate
the power of music and self-expression with amazing female musician
leaders and discover the songwriter in each other. No songwriting
experience is needed to be successful this weekend!
Participants
will need to bring their own acoustic instruments (acoustic guitar,
ukulele, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, etc.) AND they should have some
basic familiarity with playing the acoustic instruments they bring
just enough comfort to strum, play simple chords, or explore sounds together.
Adult & Me pairs will share housing with other kids and their grownups. Housing at Camp Lakamaga is primarily in cabins or yurts, some of which do not have air conditioning. All housing options will require a short walk to a latrine or a farther walk to flush toilets and showers (less than 10 minutes).
