Volunteers: Kick-off your new Girl Scout year with
the Bell Museum's Space Science Celebration kit!
These astronomy-themed and ready-to-go kits facilitate 6+ different hands-on activities stations aligned with Space Science badges. These interactive activity stations, developed by Bell Museum educators, cover a range of science topics suitable for Daisy, Brownies, and Juniors!
Each kit includes:
- Step-by-step instructions
- All of the materials needed to complete the activities up to 10, 30, or 50 participants (depending on kit size)
- A new Bell Museum Space Science Celebration patch
- Special bonus items!
All you need is a space to host the event and volunteers (or Cadette, Senior or Ambassador Girl Scouts!) to facilitate these space activities.
2025 Space Science Celebration Kit Activities:
- Astronaut Training - Practice your dexterity, endurance, and reflexes-all important traits for astronauts to handle the unique challenges of space.
- Colors of the Aurora - Model the science behind the auroras and what causes their colors.
- Lights and Prisms - Explore different colors of light, their properties, and the power of prisms.
- Observing Orbits - Design an orbit system and learn about the Earth's orbit by observing the night sky.
- Rocket Engineering - Engineer a rocket and then redesign to make your rocket fly even further.
- Solar Oven Design - Understand properties of heat reflection and absorption by building a homemade oven, then use it to cook a tasty snack.
You will receive the kits by the end of October. There will be a pick up option at the St. Paul Service Center.

In order to receive a refund, minus a $5 cancellation fee, we must receive your cancellation notice by end of day Sept. 1. To cancel your purchase, submit the Events & Camp Cancellation Form. The payment from your cancelled purchase cannot be transferred.
