Campers in this session will take their canoeing and camping skills farther ever before while spending 10 days in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness! Youth will spend the first days at Camp Northwoods preparing for their trip, then will travel by van to the Boundary Waters (about three hours away). Once there, campers will set off into the remote lakes and rivers of the Boundary Waters for 10 days of canoeing and camping. Each day campers will load up their canoes and paddle to a different site to camp for the night. After completing their canoeing trip, campers will return to Camp Northwoods to clean up and celebrate!

Prerequisites: Previous remote camping and canoeing or kayaking experience is required. Campers should be prepared to paddle 6-15 miles per day as well as portage (carry) boats and gear from one lake to another. This trip may include both river and lake paddling. Since longer trip programs can be challenging, campers will be asked to fill out a pre-camp survey about their experience level when registering for six-day or longer trips. This helps make the experience safer and more enjoyable for all campers.

Cadettes will earn their Trailblazer and Primitive Camper Badges; Seniors and Ambassadors will earn the Adventure Camper Badge (included).

Bus transportation to and from camp is included in the cost of registration. We provide a bus to Camp Northwoods with stops in Eagan and at Camp Lakamaga. Details can be found on the Bus to Northwoods page.
