Ages 14+ and Adult Volunteers: Join us for the opportunity to become Wilderness First Aid Certified! Red Cross training in Wilderness First Aid is an advanced first aid training for situations in which access to medical care is more than 30 minutes away. This can include trips into the wilderness as well as travel trips through remote areas. The training is based on presentations, discussion, and hands-on scenarios with class participants working as a team to practice providing care in an outdoor setting. Segments include advanced skills in how to assess the situation, controlling bleeding, caring for bone and muscle injury, head and spine injuries, environmental (heat and cold) emergencies, and much more. Wilderness First Aide Certification is good for 2 years.

This training is a two-day training with training being about 8 hours each day, with extra time for lunch and breaks.  You will need to bring snacks and lunch (access to a microwave).

Participants under 18 do not need an adult to sign up with them.  However, a health history form will be needed for all minors if their adult choses to not stay.
