Grades 2-5: Join the Bell Museum for a hands-on citizen science experience! Girl Scouts will earn their Citizen Science Badge by completing a variety of hands-on activities. Conduct a bird count at the Touch and See Lab's outdoor bird feeders while getting to know our invertebrate animal ambassadors. Build data collection skills with our world-famous dioramas. Head outside to collect plant and wildlife data for iNaturalist as a team. Learn about the living networks that connect and support life forms, large and small, in the Whitney and Elizabeth MacMillan Planetarium.
Included: Citizen Science badge, Bell Museum Admission and a ticket to the planetarium show
Lunch: There will be a 30 minute lunch break mid-way through the event. Lunch will not be provided, but please feel free to bring your own lunch. Please note that there is no food or drink allowed in the exhibits. There will be a place for you to store your lunch or other belongings during the program.
Adult/Youth Ratio:Adult chaperones are required to register and attend with youth members. Due to the limited space, we do ask that you only register 1-2 adults per troop through gsEvents so that there is space for youth members. If there are more adults in your troop who would like to attend, they are welcome to purchase their own museum admission and/or planetarium tickets through the Bell Museum directly.
Check out the Bell Museum website for more information about their ticket options. Information on which show to purchase tickets for will be included in a pre-event email for any additional adults in your group who would like to attend.
