Grades 8-12: Join the Girl Scout Book Club! Earn your Novelist badge over this multi-day series Book Club! Read a novel by a BIPOC author and get to know Strive Bookstore, a BIPOC owned and operated bookstore and publishing house! Well choose a book to read together, learn about the author, try out different writing styles, and write and edit at least 15 pages of a story of your own in the genre of your choice.
This is a bi-weekly series event, being held April 14th, April 28th, May 12th, and May 26th, 2024. Each session will be held from 1:00PM-4:00PM.
While this series sets out to uplift BIPOC voices and stories, it is open and welcome for anyone to sign up.
Included: Copy of novel chosen, Novelist badge, snack
Adult/Youth Ratio: Youth only event, no adults are required to attend. Adults who do attend will be able to hang out in the bookstore.
