Grades 9-12: Calling all Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts who enjoy leading activities and being a mentor for Cadette Girl Scouts. Whether you have earned your program aide pin, or on your way to do so, sign up to assist at Cadette aMaze Overnight Journey April 6th-7th. You will be paired with a staff member to assist in leading activities that support the mission of the aMaze Journey.
The aMaze Journey focuses on building strong friendships and navigating the maze of life with supportive friends by your side. As a program aide, you will act as a mentor to Cadette Girl Scouts as you assist in leading activities across program areas such as: art, writing, games, and more.
Prior to the event date you will be sent 4 activities from the Program Aide Activity Plans to review, including Giving Directions, How to Lead, Age Group Characteristics, and Skills Inventory. These will help you prepare for the event. If you have already taken Program Aide training, this will be a good review, and if you have not, this can be the first step to earning the pin; refer to the Program Aide Activity Plans for more information on how to earn the pin.
When you register for the event, you will be able to choose to stay help Saturday or spend the night and assist Sunday morning also.
You will need to bring a water bottle and be dressed comfortably to participate in activities indoors and outdoors. Snacks and meals will be provided throughout the journey. If youre registered to stay overnight, you will receive an overnight packing list prior to the event.
Adult/Youth Ratio: Only 1 adult is required to register and attend with every 10 Girl Scouts. Adults who stay overnight need to be a member with a background check.
