Grades 9-12: Join us at the Minnesota State Capitol to learn how to speak out, Girl Scout! We're celebrating International Women's Day and Girl Scout's 112th birthday.

NEW this year: 9-12th grade Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to listen to a panel of inspiring local advocates, hosted by Girl Scouts River Valleys CEO Marisa C. Williams! The panel consists of Jules Porter, a practicing lawyer and CEO of a company focused on Black representation in video games, Alexandria Ang, a former advocate for NAMI Next Gen and host of the podcast "A is for Anxious", Aurin Chowdhury, a Minneapolis City Council Member, and Roxanna Gonzalez, a partner in a major law firm and local advocate.

You will also be able to explore the historic Capitol building, learn about civics and government, meet volunteers from Minnesota Women Lawyers, and practice your advocacy skills. This is a great event for Girl Scouts looking to make a difference in their communities and can help Girl Scouts feel inspired to complete a Take Action or a Highest Award project.

By attending Day at the Capitol, you will earn an exclusive Day at the Capitol participation patch and receive information on how to earn your Democracy badge.

Groups are expected to follow adult/youth ratios as outlined in the Safety Activity Checkpoints. Parking is not included in the event price. Plan on walking approximately 10 minutes from nearby parking to the Capitol building. The Capitol is easily accessible via light rail and city bus.

If you signed up for the other Day at the Capitol Event you will be able to be apart of these activities.

Adult/Youth Ratio: Adult chaperones are required to register and attend with youth members. Please limit adult registration and attendance to 1-2 adults for every 10 youth.
