Hit the trail in this wilderness trip session, where you’ll experience all the excitement and adventure of wilderness tripping. You’ll spend the first days at Camp Northwoods prepping for your trip. Then you’ll take a van toto the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for an 8-day backpacking trip on the amazing Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Each day you will load up your backpacks and hike to a different site to camp for the night.
Continue to refine your trip skills as you enjoy beautiful views of Lake Superior and the unique rock formations of the area. After completing your backpacking trip, you’ll return to Camp Northwoods to clean up and celebrate. Previous backpacking and remote camping experience recommended. Cadettes will earn their Trail Adventure and Primitive Camper badges; Seniors will earn the Adventure Camper and Trail Adventure badges (included).
Since our longer trip programs can be challenging, we ask trip campers to fill out this pre-survey about their experience level after registering for 6 day or longer trips. This helps us make the experience safer and more enjoyable for all campers.
Grade levels: Register at the grade your camper is CURRENTLY in for the 2022/23 school year.
Payment details: This camp session has a minimum deposit. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Full payment is due 30 days prior to the first day of the camp session.

If you are planning to pay using program credits, please pay the minimum deposit with a credit card and select Program Credits as a payment type. The deposit from your cancelled session cannot be transferred, nor refunded. To receive a refund, less the non-transferable/non-refundable deposit, we must receive your cancellation notice by the posted cancellation deadline (30 days prior to the program start date). To cancel your registration, submit the Events & Camp Cancellation Form.
