Grades 6-12: This MEA weekend, escape the cold and connect with Girl Scout history in Savannah, GA! Girl Scouts River Valleys is going to Savannah, GA in collaboration with Explorica Educational Tours. On this trip, you’ll learn all about our founder, Juliette Gordon Low, experience the history of Old Town Savannah, and so much more! 

Registrants will meet as a group prior to travel to get to know each other and prepare for travel. 

How to register:

  • Girl Scouts interested in attending should register via Explorica’s website. Click the Register Now button.
  • Payments will be managed through each traveler’s Explorica account upon registration. Automatic and manual payment plans are available. 
  • Adult spots are very limited to maximize the number of Girl Scout travelers. Adult chaperone registration is by application only. Interested adults should fill out this application and return it to girlscouts@girlscoutsrv.org by January 31, 2023.
  • Scholarships are available after registration. Registration deadline is Jun 29.

Itinerary (subject to change)

Day 1:

  • Arrive in Savannah
  • Savannah Old Town city tour

Day 2:

  • Girl Scout First Headquarters guided visit, including badge
  • Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace experience with pinning ceremony
  • Andrew Low House visit

Day 3:

  • Old Fort Jackson Girl Scout Militia Program
  • Tybee Island Marine Center visit
  • Tybee Island Lighthouse visit

Day 4:

  • Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum guided tour
  • Laurel Grove Cemetery visit
  • Travel home

Includes: round-trip airfare, transportation while in Savannah, 3 nights lodging, breakfast and dinner daily while on tour, and excursions included on itinerary. Travelers will need to bring additional money for lunches and for any shopping or additional activities they would like to do.
