Venture to camp with an important adult in your life for some fun and enjoy time relaxing and playing together. Each pair gets two hours of horse time, which includes a riding lesson in the ring as well as lessons on grooming, saddling, and horse safety. You’ll also get to explore camp in an open-house format, where pairs can move at their own pace through activities of their choice including archery, swimming, boating, art, mountain biking and geocaching.

This year we are excited to offer Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families the chance to attend our Horsing Around Overnight with other BIPOC families. The adult and child do not both need to identify as BIPOC to attend. Camp sessions will be led as much as possible by BIPOC staff. As this is a new program for us, we are offering it at a reduced price for its first year.

For the safety of the horses, there is a 250-pound carrying limit which should be considered when registering for horse programs. Please contact us directly with any specific questions or concerns.

Child/adult pairs will share housing with other child/adult pairs.. Housing at Camp Elk River is in air-conditioned dorms or cabins, with bathrooms (including flush toilets and showers) located in the same building.
