Girl Scout Day at the Capitol - Mar 11
Girl Member Price: $5
Location: Minnesota State Capitol, St. Paul, MN
Registration closes Feb 23
Grades 2-12: Join us at the Minnesota State Capitol, where you’ll be able to explore the Minnesota State Capitol building through an exciting scavenger hunt, practice your advocating skills, meet women advocates, and discover how you can be a changemaker! Activities will be adjustable for all grade levels to participate. This is a great event for Girl Scouts looking to make a difference in their community, to have their voice heard, or to pursue a Take Action or Silver or Gold Award project. Attending this event will help you work toward earning your Democracy Badge! You’ll complete the step: Find out about state government.
Come as a family or with your troop. Groups are expected to follow adult/youth ratios as outlined in Safety Activity Checkpoints. This is an open-house format, so you can move at your own pace. Expect to spend at least an hour to an hour and a half doing activities.
Attend this program by itself OR extend your learning by also joining us for Virtual Day at the Capitol, Mar 7 or 8, where you’ll discover how to be an advocate, and explore how to use your personal strengths to make a difference, and more
This event is open to Girl Scouts and families from Girl Scouts River Valleys, Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines, and Girl Scouts Dakota Horizons.
The Minnesota History Center is offering reduced pricing and special activities for Girl Scouts in conjunction with our event! On March 11th, museum admission will be $2 off for Girl Scouts and their guardians or troop leaders. Visit the Minnesota History Center and participate in a “Women in Minnesota History” scavenger hunt and a craft activity! Museum hours are 10am-4pm. Purchase your tickets in-person. Please be aware that parking fees for the Minnesota History Center are not included in the event price.
Guest Tickets Available: Adult chaperones are required to attend with their Girl Scouts through the selection of a guest ticket with event registration. Additional family members/guests are welcome to attend the event via a guest ticket selected by the Girl Scout during registration. Maximum 4 guest tickets per registrant. No extra charge for guest tickets. Although the cart at checkout may not show you how many tickets you selected, they are being recorded and will help us know the number of supplies needed. We will not ask for tickets at admission.
