gsLead: Leadership Development Cohort

Grades 8 –12: Join us for a new leadership development program designed specifically for 8th - 12th grade Girl Scouts who want to explore and expand their leadership skills. Throughout this six-part series, participants will identify their strengths, develop future goals, hear from women leaders in a variety of fields, and grow in a supportive community of other Girl Scouts. These sessions will take us to various exciting locations for hands-on activities, from Girl Scout camp to the Minnesota History Center to a women-led law firm in downtown Minneapolis.  
By the end of the gsLead series, you will feel prepared to lead in a variety of situations and be confident in your own identity as a leader. Participants who complete at least 5 of the 6 gsLead sessions will receive a patch and certificate at the closing celebration.  

Program Dates: 
Session 1: Sunday, November 7th 1 pm – 4 pm – Kick off at the Minnesota History Center's Extraordinary Women Exhibit
Session 2: Sunday, December 5th 1 pm – 3 pm –  Sponsored by Best and Flannagan (virtual)  
Session 3: Sunday, January 23rd 1 pm – 4 pm – at Camp Lakamaga 
Session 4: Sunday in February (date TBD) – Virtual 
Session 5: Sunday in March (date TBD) – Leading and Making Change in the Government - In person at Best and Flanagan law office in Minneapolis

Session 6: Sunday in April (date TBD) -  In person – Location TBD Closing Reflection and Celebration

Payment details: This event has a minimum deposit. We ask registrants who are paying for this event with a credit card to pay the full balance at check out. 

If you are planning to request financial assistance, please pay the minimum deposit with a credit card and select Financial Aid as a payment type. After registering, visit girlscoutsrv.org/financial-assistance to submit your financial assistance application.  

If you are planning to pay using program credits, pay as much of the total balance as you would like with a credit card and select Program Credit as a payment type for the remaining balance. Paper credits should be mailed to our St. Paul Service Center office. To submit Electronic Program Credits, visit volunteers.girlscoutsrv.org/program-credit-redemption-form/.
