State Parks Patch Request

Girl Scouts River Valleys, Minnesota State Parks and Trails and Wisconsin State Parks have teamed up to support girls, troops, and families in getting outside and exploring parks on July 13-14! All registered Girl Scouts in our council who visit a Minnesota or Wisconsin State Park on July 13-14 can receive a Minnesota State Parks and Trails/Girl Scouts River Valleys patch or a Wisconsin State Parks patch.

You can tell us about your plans for July 13-14 in advance OR submit either the Minnesota or Wisconsin State Parks Patch Request form after your state park adventure. Patch requests must be completed by 11:59 pm on July 22.

All patches will be mailed in August 2019.

 

State Park FAQs

How do I get the Minnesota State Parks and Trails/Girl Scouts River Valleys Patch?

There are 2 ways of getting the patch at this time:

  1. Attend a Council-Sponsored Girl Scout State Park Program, such as Winter Camping or the I Can Camp! programs. These can be found on the event listing of this website.
  2. Participate in the Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend by visiting a Minnesota State State Park on July 13-14 to be eligible for the Minnesota State Parks and Trails/Girl Scouts River Valleys patch. Fill out the patch request form online and tell us about your weekend. Minnesota State Parks and Trails/Girl Scouts River Valleys patches will be mailed out in August.

How do I get the Wisconsin State Parks Patch?

Visit a Wisconsin State Park on July 13-14 to be eligible for the Wisconsin State Park patch. Fill out the patch request form online and tell us about your weekend. Wisconsin State Park patches will be mailed out in August.

What is Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend?

Girl Scouts Love State Parks is a national movement aiming to get ALL Girl Scouts into their state parks on one weekend! Girl Scouts River Valleys girls are invited to attend any Minnesota or Wisconsin State Park on one or both days this weekend and connect with nature by doing something like going for a hike, attending a naturalist program, camping or working on a Take Action project!

I’m not in the Girl Scouts River Valleys Council, can I still get the patch?

Only Girl Scouts registered in the Girl Scouts River Valleys council are eligible to receive the Girl Scouts River Valleys/Minnesota State Parks and Trails patch or Wisconsin State Parks patch.

Is there a cost for the patch?

No! The Girl Scouts River Valleys/Minnesota State Parks patch and Wisconsin State Parks patch will be sent out free of charge.

Are there any other patches for participating on this weekend?

Yes, GSUSA will be releasing a Girl Scouts Love State Parks patch that will be available around July 1 for $1.50.

I’m not a Girl Scout-can I get the patch?

The patches are available to registered Girl Scouts River Valleys members only. If a registered adult/volunteer would like a patch, they should be sure to include themselves in the number of registered members attending to ensure they receive a patch.

Do I need to sign-up for Girl Scouts Love State Parks Weekend?

No sign-up is needed for this weekend. Girls are invited to visit any state park at their own convenience over this weekend. Stay for an hour or spend the whole weekend-it’s up to you! If you plan to attend any special programming within the park or if you’d like to camp, we suggest contacting the park ahead of time to ensure space and availability for those activities.
