Background information
Your troop will have the chance later today (6 p.m.) to enter our online lottery to participate in the Girl Scout cookie booth at the Great Girl Gathering! We are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting at the Mall of America on March 10–11.
NEW! The location of the cookie booth was recently changed from the Mall of America rotunda to the temporary Girl Scout shop, which will be located on the first floor of the mall in the North Garden. Because of this location change, we have modified a few details of this event. Please be sure to read carefully to ensure that if selected in the lottery, your troop will be able to participate.
NEW! From the lottery, 15 troops and four Juliettes will be selected randomly by grade level to participate. The lottery begins today, January 19 at 6 p.m.
All currently registered River Valleys’ troops have the opportunity to enter our online lottery once. If you manage multiple troops, you can enter the lottery once for each troop you manage. Each troop may only be entered once. If a troop enters more than once, they will be disqualified.
Note: River Valleys’ Product Program staff will support troops in the cookie booth and River Valleys will provide all cookie inventory (all eight varieties). Troops may not bring their own inventory to sell at this event.
Requirements and eligibility
- Current registered River Valleys’ troops are eligible for this opportunity.
- All girls who participate must be registered Girl Scouts.
- The adults who participate do not need to be registered members.
- NEW! In order to be eligible, your troop must bring four Girl Scouts and two adult volunteers.
- Troop too small? If your troop cannot commit to bringing four Girl Scouts and two adult volunteers, you may pair up with another interested troop in your area. Please enter the lottery using only one of the troop numbers. Please note: The council cannot coordinate pairing of troops.
- Troops should not bring more than four girls to participate in the booth.
- Troop too big? If your troop has more than four Girl Scouts who wish to participate in this opportunity and your troop is selected in the lottery, you can plan on alternating girls during your time slot if you so choose. Please note: the council cannot coordinate the alternating of girls during this event, and your troop will only receive enough T-shirts and incentives for four girls and two adults.
- NEW! Troops or Juliettes of all Girl Scout grade levels may apply. Based on recent feedback received, we have decided to allow Daisies to participate in this opportunity as well!
- Troop must be available for time slot of up to 3 hours in length (15-minute orientation included) on either Saturday, March 10, or Sunday, March 11.
- NEW! Morning, afternoon and evening shifts occur between 9:45 a.m. and 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, and between 10:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11.
- You will be able to select your troop’s preferences for day and time in the online lottery form.
- NEW! If your troop is selected in the lottery, you will miss the alternate activities occurring in the rest of the mall during your scheduled time (for up to three hours).
Troop proceeds and accommodations
- All participating troops* will receive an equal share of proceeds from cookies sold over the two-day event. Troop proceeds are $0.55 per package. Troops will receive these proceeds by check after the event, and the sales and proceeds will not be reflected in eBudde. *Four Juliettes will be combined to form one troop.
