There are opportunities for you to have a great time this year alongside your daughter. By co-leading this troop, you’ll help bring Girl Scouting to life. You’ll partner with other parents, and, with their help, the time commitment of each co-leader can be as little as four hours a month (for a troop that meets monthly). If you’re interested in taking on this role, let our placement team know – they’ll be in touch after you register.
|I Want to Lead Her Troop||Families at all grade levels||Are you excited to have a great time this year alongside your daughter? Choose this option, and our placement team will be in touch soon after you complete your daughter’s Girl Scout membership to guide you through the steps in becoming a volunteer. They’ll get a new troop set up for you, so that you’ll be ready to start Girl Scouts as soon as possible this fall.
We want being a leader to be a great time, so we will support you with on-demand trainings and support from dedicated staff. We’ll also help you recruit additional volunteers to help you with your new role. If you have additional questions about volunteering, let our placement team know – they’ll be in touch soon after you finish registration.
Council staff will contact any families that join Girl Scouts as members of these buckets, and help them find permanent troops. They will start their calls with the families that choose “I want to lead her troop”, as that allows them to get a new troop created for the other families. All families will be asked to volunteer, starting with the troop leader role, and then offered other positions such as the Troop Cookie Manager. Troops will be formed and placed in the catalog as adults begin to lead, and positions in those troops will be offered to members of the buckets as well as new families joining online.
