Leave No Trace Trainer
Trainer courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees, and other outdoor professionals. Participants learn the concepts of Leave No Trace and prepare to teach Leave No Trace curriculum in a variety of settings-schools, camps, parks, wilderness and front country areas. Workshop topics include the underlying ethics and seven principles of Leave No Trace (LNT):
- Plan Ahead and Prepare
- Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
- Dispose of Waste Properly
- Leave What You Find
- Minimize Campfire Impacts
- Respect Wildlife
- Be Considerate of Other Visitors
Review of LNT the organization and the 7 LNT principles. Each participate will be assigned a principle that they will need to plan and lead a 10 – 15 minute presentation.
we will continue learning inside for the am. The group will head out to a park for a biking or backpacking camping trip. Participants should be comfortable with extensive hiking or biking up to 10 miles a day.
Presentations will take place along the trip, throughout the evening and into the morning.
We’ll enjoy a breakfast “on trail” at the campground and then head back to camp to finish the course prior to lunch.
