Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Girl Scouts of Greater Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys.
There are many ways to volunteer with the Girl Scouts, including troop leader, which is one of the most recognizable volunteer positions within Girl Scouting. However, there are many other volunteer opportunities available! Girls Scouts welcomes adults ages 18 and older—including both men and women—for a variety of volunteer jobs. Consider what talents you have to share. Review several of the many volunteer opportunities below. No experience is necessary and Girl Scouts provides training. Communications Representative – Help enhance public awareness of Girl Scouts and to promote service unit news.
Delegates/alternate delegates - Entitled to elect directors-at-large, elected officers, Board Development Committee members and national council delegates. Delegates are the communication link between River Valleys’ girls, volunteers, Community Networks, and board of directors.
Event Coordinator – Plan, implement, and evaluate service unit events.
Juliette Liaison – Provide support and encouragement to Juliette Girl Scouts.
Leader - Work in partnership with girls to carry out troop program based on the beliefs principles of the Girl Scout Movement and the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Leader Mentor - Assist in the support and retention of troop leaders by providing intensive support during critical times: the first and bridging year.
Organizer Recruiter - Recruit, place, and retain girls and adult volunteers in Girl Scouts while ensuring that all girls in the assigned service area can fully participate in Girl Scouting programs and activities.
Product Sales Activities Advisory Committee Chair - Provide leadership to the product sales activities advisory committee which advises product sales staff on current and proposed product sales activity procedures, materials and communications.

Registrar - Ensure the success of the Girl Scouts’ registration process by performing the tasks needed to collect and process both the girl and adult annual membership registrations.
Resource Coordinator - Help maintain quality programming and to promote troop/leader retention by providing assistance
Secretary - Provide administrative support to the service team.
Service Unit Cookie Manager - Promote, coordinate, and implement the cookie program activity within the service unit.
Service Unit Fast Start Coach - Manage the process of Service Unit Fast Start Training for new Girl Scout leaders, representing Girl Scouts of the USA and the River Valleys.
Service Unit Manager - Develop and maintain Girl Scouting throughout the assigned area and to organize and support local troops, Juliettes (individual girl members), registered adult volunteers, families, and community partners.
Trainer - Deliver quality, position specific training to adult volunteers; providing each with the information and support necessary to develop the skills needed to be successful in their River Valleys position.
Travel Mentor - Be a part of opening up the world through travel as you take this opportunity to share your memories, your travel log do’s & don’ts, as well as the skills you have gained through travel. We are searching for volunteers to share your travel experiences with troops that are planning to travel to similar places that you have traveled. Troops could request a travel mentor and based on your experience, you would be matched you up with them. You will be trained to guide girls through the trip planning process and serve as a chaperone for trips as needed. Volunteer travel mentors will cover their own trip expenses.
Treasurer - Oversee and manage of all service unit finances.
Troop Cookie Manager - Promote, coordinate, and implement the cookie program activity within the troop and ensure procedures are followed and deadlines met.
Volunteer Archivists - Help maintain Girl Scout history for the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys and its legacy councils. We need Archivist volunteers at our Northfield and Rochester service centers to help create displays, manage inventory, and create educational troop kits to share the history of Girl Scouting in our communities.
