We offer many volunteer opportunities, ranging from one-time commitments to experiences that will enrich your life for years.
Help for a day
- Volunteer at an event – Guide girls through activities, take registrations, assist with set-up and take-down
- Sign up as a special interest volunteer – one-time projects that fit your schedule
- Translate written materials or be a foreign language interpreter for an event
- Volunteer at the Great Girl Gathering March 10 and/or 11, 2012
Make a short-term commitment
- Plan an adult education conference or local event
- Be a spokesperson to recruit volunteers and girls to Girl Scouts
- Plan and implement college readiness workshops for high school Girl Scouts (view position description)
- Help at a day camp (three to five days)
- Be a Gold Award Committee Member
- Girl Scout ConnectZ Cookie Manager-Troop Level
Partner with one of River Valleys’ ConnectZ troops to implement the Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity. Girl Scout ConnectZ is a new initiative to reach under-served girls by partnering with school districts and community organizations. Approximately 10-15 hours a month from January through April. Training will be in January.
Commit to girls for one year or longer
- Lead a troop – Deliver Girl Scouting to a group of girls who meet regularly (view position description)
- Lead a Skyline Towers troop
- Be a troop helper – assist the troop leader
- Join a committee or task group – share your voice and influence council decision-making
- Be a delegate – Be the link between girls, volunteers, community networks and River Valleys’ Board of Directors (view position description)
- Train other Girl Scout volunteers (view position description and recruitment flier)
- Work with girls in cultural initiatives troops (view position description)
- Web support – help a troop update and maintain their website
- Be a Gold Award Advisor
- Be a Fall Product Program Manager
- Be a Centennial Take Action Coordinator
