Girls Cook Out Volunteer Training

Learn skills and tips from outdoor cooking experts to prepare you to guide girls in cooking outdoors. Build on the skills you learned in Girls Cook In to prepare you to assist girls with cooking food in the outdoors. Learn essential outdoor cooking skills including: fire building methods, charcoal and camp stove cooking, outdoor dishwashing and sanitation methods as covered in safety activity checkpoints, basic knots and jackknife safety. Enjoy the hands-on experience of cooking a meal using different fuel sources and equipment such as one pot, box oven and pie irons. Leave No Trace Principles will also be reviewed in this session. Bring: Dunk bag (plate, cup, fork, knife, spoon in a mesh bag to wash the dishes) and Beyond the Troop Manual, if you have one. If not, one will be provided.

Note: This session is offered during the FALL Conference. If you plan on attending other conference sessions please register through the FALL Conference registration. This session starts in the morning and the participants will eat the food prepared during the session as their lunch.
