Council Program Services

Council Program Services
River Valleys Girl Scouts offers girls a variety of program opportunities through which they learn to work together, participate in new challenges, and develop leadership skills.

.

Council-sponsored program events are designed to provide opportunities for girls to interact with others and experience activities they may not get to try in troops, service units, or on their own. Age-differentiated activities engage girls in Girl Scout's three keys to leadership – Discover, Connect, and Take Action. Based on the Girl Scouting philosophy of leadership, to become leaders, girls need to:

    • Understand their values, and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world (Discover).
    • Care about, inspire, and team with others (Connect).
    • Act to make the world a better place (Take Action).

Girl Scout Camp is a great way to help girls develop important life skills, and values such as leadership, confidence, determination, and teamwork through programs designed to meet their needs and interests.  Whether you go for a day, a week or longer, Girl Scout camping gives you an opportunity to grow, explore, and have fun—always under the guidance of caring, trained adults. Every girl should have a chance to camp!
