Registering for Program Events

Council-sponsored program events are designed to provide opportunities for girls to interact with others and experience activities they may not get to try in troops, service units or on their own. Age-differentiated activities engage girls in Girl Scout's three keys to leadership – Discover, Connect, and Take Action. Based on the Girl Scouting philosophy of leadership, to become leaders, girls need to:

• Understand their values, and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world (Discover).
• Care about, inspire, and team with others (Connect).
• Act to make the world a better place (Take Action).

Here’s what past Council-sponsored program events participants had to say about their experiences…

• "A wonderful experience for my daughter and the community!"
• "The confidence the girls gain is wonderful."
• "This is a wonderful program. The coaches were fabulous and my daughter has developed a love for swimming and swim team!"

Upcoming council-sponsored program events

Girl Scouts provides girls with many hands-on opportunities to learn and grow by doing! We develop programs that are educational, fun, and exciting. As girls explore the possibilities for adventure, adult volunteers are encouraged to include girls in the activity planning process by reviewing the programs with them. All registered Girl Scouts are invited to any council-sponsored program event. Girls must be chaperoned by an adult.

Visit us again in August to read about some of the hundreds of council-sponsored program events offered throughout the council jurisdiction.
