In the city, the suburbs, or the country, Girl Scouts has something for every girl, and it’s never too late to join in the fun. Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys invites girls and adults to get involved as members and volunteers.

According to one Girl Scout leader and former girl member, “I didn’t think twice about my daughter becoming a Girl Scout. Girls learn so much, make great friends, develop good morals, and always have so much fun. It takes more than parents to raise a child. Girl Scouts provides positive role models.”

The first step to becoming a Girl Scout is to fill out the Girl Scout Interest Indicator form. Once submitted a membership staff person will contact you to assist with registration in your community or near your school.

Girl Scouts has six program grade levels designed to meet girls' developmental, educational, emotional, and social needs as they grow:

Girl Scout Daisy, Grades K-1

Girl Scout Brownie, Grades 2-3

Girl Scout Junior, Grades 4-5

Girl Scout Cadette, Grades 6-8

Girl Scout Senior, Grades 9-10

Girl Scout Ambassador, Grades 11-12

Girls may also participate at all grade levels as a Juliette Girl Scout, which allows girls to participate in Girl Scouting on an individual level.

Girl Scouts works to ensure that all girls—girls of diverse cultures and economic backgrounds, as well as girls with all levels of physical, cognitive and mental abilities—can participate, achieve their best, and have fun through Girl Scouting. This is achieved through:

Community partnerships that offer girls the opportunity to celebrate their specific heritage and backgrounds while experiencing all aspects of Girl Scouting. Some examples of special groups include the Somali soccer team and the Adaptive group at the Rochester Service Center; the Swim Teams and Migrant Summer School groups at the Redwood Falls Service Center; the Girl Scouts Beyond Bars group at the Northfield Service Center; and Hmong Women’s Circle, Beta Gamma Girl Scouts, and Latinas Unidas groups at the Brooklyn Center and St. Paul Service Centers.

Grants for Girls, a financial assistance program that ensures all girls have access to Girl Scouting who would not otherwise be able to afford Girl Scout activities.
