River Valleys Orientation

This session is designed to give you the information and tools necessary to get your troop up and running. Learn about your support network, how to hold a family meeting, GSUSA’s and River Valleys’ safety procedures, managing troop bank accounts, how to register your girls and how to implement the Planning Guides.

Required for: All new troop leaders
Prerequisites: Girl Scouting 101
Duration: 45 minutes

When to Complete: Within four months of appointment
How often to Complete: Once

 

Ways to Complete

Online Training

  1. Download Instructions for Using River Valleys’ Online Learning Center. Once you are registered, you may take the training at your own pace any time.
  2. Register for and complete online training at Flex Training.
    • NOTE: when you have completed River Valleys Orientation, your completion will be recorded and your registration will be removed from FlexTraining. Should you wish to access River Valleys Orientation again, you will need to register again as a “New Student”.
  3. A paper self-study is available for those without internet access by emailing Training@girlscoutsrv.org or calling 800-845-0787.
