First Aid and CPR

Learn how to care for victims, including CPR and rescue breathing, care for choking victims, recognizing the symptoms of a heart attack, caring for sudden illness and caring for head, neck and back injuries. Participants will learn to use breathing barriers and disposable gloves properly.

Course materials will be available for use during the course, and are available for purchase online from the Red Cross.

First Aid and CPR Certification

Required for: Many camp staff members and volunteers.
Prerequisites: None
Duration: Eight hours

When to Complete: Before beginning work in camp staff positions

Re-Certification Challenge

This challenge course will allow those with a current or expired less than one year First Aid certificate to renew their first aid as well as their CPR. Those who have a current First Aid certificate that need their CPR reviewed can also take this course. No coaching is given, and participants will complete all practical and written test portions of this certification.

Required for: Those with First Aid/CPR certifications that expired less than one year ago.
Prerequisites: First Aid/CPR Certification
Duration: Ninety minutes
Cost: $25

When to Complete: Within one year of First Aid/CPR Certification expiration
How often to Complete: Every two years
