River Valleys is calling all Girl Scout Investigators (GSI) to participate in the 2009 Fall Product Program. Get your troop activities off the ground early with the new Fall Product Program. Troops can earn proceeds for each item sold, plus you can earn fun awards as you “Unlock the Mystery” with Snoops the bloodhound. Proceeds can be used to help fund a variety of troop and council-sponsored events. “Be a Reader, Unlock the Mystery!” fun and enriching leadership activities include great ideas for any time during the year. Here’s your chance to investigate.

Troop Proceeds
Troops earn $2.50 for every new or renewed subscription sold,
and music, book and gift sold
Troops earn $1.00 for every nut/chocolate item sold
Troop Awards
Troop awards based on girls participating in the program
Troop averages 5 magazines and 40 nut/chocolate items…each girl receives knit beanie cap
Troop averages 10 magazines and 60 nut/chocolate items…each girl receives $10 in Fall FUNds
Troop averages 12 magazines and 80 nut/chocolate items…each girl receives the Super Patch and the troop is entered into a drawing where one troop will win a trip to Ashdon Farms!
Fall FUNds may be redeemed by the following:
• Council-approved day camps
• River Valleys resident camps
• Council-sponsored program events
• Girl Scout Shops and Trading Posts
• GSUSA membership dues
• Council-approved Girl Scout Cadette, Senior, and
Ambassador extended troop trips
• Approved and completed Girl Scout Silver and Gold
Award projects
• Fall FUNds will expire August 31, 2011
Be A Reader
Girls earn the “Be a Reader” patch the first year they complete the “Be a Reader” activity booklet activities for their grade level. An additional bee patch is earned for each year of completion after the initial year. These patches are available for purchase at River Valleys Girl Scout Shop. The "Be a Reader" activity booklets can be found in English and in Spanish, beware that the files are large and may take several minites to load.
