From Girl Scout Daisies to Ambassadors, girls learn something more each year they participate in the Cookie Program Activity.  In the early years, the program focus is on being a good citizen, encouraging self confidence and developing imagination.  With every new cookie season, girls enhance their skills, learning to work as a team, cooperate and problem solve, manage finances, give back to the community and leading others.  Setting and achieving goals are common threads at every program grade age level.

  • Girl Scout Daisies learn to describe cookie varieties and explain their troop goals. Accompany your girl while she makes face-to-face connections with family and friends and visits your workplace. Help your girl deliver cookies.

  • Girl Scout Brownies practice their customer service skills with door-to-door order taking. Help your girl learn the cookie varieties, explain her goals, and practice her cookie chat prior to Cookie Go Day.

  • Girl Scout Juniorslearn to take cookie inventory and manage troop finances. Participate in a Cookie Booth, where girls practice calculating the cost of cookies sold, counting change, and managing Cookie Booth supplies.

  • Girl Scout Cadettes play an active part in long-term goal setting, budgeting, and preparing activities throughout the year. Help the troop as the girls participate in the River Valleys Winter Cookie Walkabout on March 6.

  • Girl Scout Seniors expand marketing skills by using a variety of advertising methods like social media, e-mail, or instant message campaigns. Review the River Valleys online safety guidelines for details.

  • Girl Scout Ambassadors demonstrate leadership by assisting younger troops. Help your girl connect with others as she collaborates in planning a service unit cookie rally or serves as a troop cookie manager.

Online Marketing Guidance - New!
Girl Scouts now have the opportunity to share their Cookie Program Activity in cyberspace. Girls use e-mail and age-appropriate Internet functions as online marketing tools to let family, friends, and past customers know about the sale and collect indications of interest.computer

Cookie Club
Join the Cookie Club, a great online resource where Girl Scouts can see how exciting and powerful a goal can be. Every time a sale is entered in the online interactive goal tracker, it rises higher and higher toward the Girl Scout’s goal.

Leaders start the process by guiding their troops or Juliettes to an exciting goal. Then, the leader sets up the troop Cookie Club account at www.littlebrowniebakers.com.

The site allows members to manage cookie sales, e-mail customers to make “promises” to purchase cookies, and create a customer list girls can build for years to come.

Parents or guardians must sign and turn in the permission form.Then the Girl Scout receives a girl ID and password from their adult troop volunteer. Older girls will have access to a special version of the Cookie Club with a look that appeals to teens.

How The Cookie Crumbles
By participating in the Cookie Program Activity, girls gain a wealth of essential skills and experiences while helping support both troop and council programs and resources.

Some of the ways council proceeds support River Valleys include:

  • Welcome Kits for new Girl Scout Daisy and Girl Scout Brownie troops – includes Leadership Journeys books, leader guides, basic supplies and troop meeting ideas;
  • maintaining several beautiful camp and program facilities;
  • developing and maintaining program kits and equipment for troop use;
  • recruitment materials for service unit teams;
  • increasing the accessibility of training through technology;
  • underwriting unique council-sponsored program events
  • transportation for council-level programming;
  • training for adult volunteers;

Girl Scouts can use the Cookie Program Activity to bring their service ideas to life. Procceds earned by troops are often used to support troop community service projects . Troops can also participate in Cookie Care & Share is a River Valleys’ Cookie Program Activity community service project that allows customers to purchase packages of cookies that are donated to recipient organizations by the Girl Scouts. Download Cookie Care & Share Receipts. Troops can make the cookie donation themselves by using the “Care” option, or use the “Share” option and let River Valleys do the leg work and make the donation for them.
