| Thank you! |
As we wrap up the first-ever River Valleys Cookie Program Activity, we want to acknowledge the people who all had a hand in making 2009 a success. River Valleys Girl Scouts made a world of difference… one cookie package at a time. The girls learned valuable real-world skills as they combined the power of their imaginations with the power of Girl Scout cookies to lead change in their communities. To all the service unit and troop volunteers, regional cookie cupboard managers, as well as the thousands of parents and guardians, a sincere “Thank You” for sharing your time and talents. This great program would not be possible without the efforts of thousands of volunteers across River Valleys who supported our girls in their efforts. On behalf of girls and River Valleys, we wanted to also publically thank the businesses that supported River Valleys’ Girl Scouts, allowing them to host Cookie Booths. Finally, thank you to our customers for your continued support. When you purchase a package of Girl Scout cookies, you know that it truly does help girls build courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place. The Girl Scout Cookie Program Activity is the leading grade-specific business literacy program for girls in grades K - 12. When Girl Scouts participate in this voluntary activity, they build lifelong skills through hands-on leadership development and entrepreneurial activities, including money management, customer service, team building, goal setting, financial literacy, and marketing. River Valleys will soon begin planning our 2010 Cookie Program Activity with Cookie Go Day set for January 16, 2010! |
| 1000+ Club Event |
|
Invitations and itineraries were mailed in late April to all the girls who have sold 1,000+ packages. RSVPs must be received by May 1. Join Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys for a 1000+ Club Event filled with adventure! We will trek to the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Illinois for a special visit that includes breakfast with an elephant. Our journey starts on May 15, 2009 when we depart Minnesota in the late afternoon for an overnight stay at Camp Abe Lincoln in Iowa. Girls will rise and shine early to set out for the Niabi Zoo to enjoy breakfast with the elephant, just like our 2009 Cookie Program Activity mascot “Eco Ellie.” After breakfast, girls will have the chance to enter the zoo before the general public to view the countless exhibits ranging from the American Black Bear to the Zebus. |
