Horse Rider Weekend at Camp Lakamaga (Camp Code: L06091109) |

Practice saddling, bridling, and hitching a horse. Learn to mount and dismount, turn and stop a horse on command, at both a walk and a trot. Use your skills on a trail ride throughout Camp Lakamaga, stopping for a snack along the way. When not working with horses in small groups, learn more about horse anatomy, grooming, and riding equipment. Junior Girl Scouts will earn and receive the Horse Rider badge. Adult chaperones need to attend but will not ride horses. It is highly recommended that girls have some riding experience or have earned the Horse Fan badge before attending this weekend.
