WELCOME TO GIRL SCOUT SUMMER CAMP!

Thank you for your interest in attending one of our amazing Girl Scout summer camps! River Valleys’ Girl Scout programs and camps are of the highest quality, thanks to our excellent facilities and dedicated staff. At summer camp girls build courage, confidence, and character with other girls who share their same interests!

Get ready for an unforgettable summer filled with fun, friends, and adventure. No matter what program you choose to attend, you will discover summer camp is a time to:

• Learn a new skill! There are many to choose from, including canoeing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, biking, climbing and art projects like pottery, painting, mosaics, and photography.

• Learn how to make decisions for youself and as part of a group!

ACA ACCREDITED

All of our Girl Scout camps meet the safety camp management standards established by Girl Scouts of the USA, as well as all local and state standards. We also follow the standards established by the American Camp Association. ACA Accreditation assures parents that camp practices have measured up against 300 national standards and go a step beyond a state’s licensing requirements. Camps Elk River, Greenwood, Lakamaga, Northwoods, Singing Hills, and Whispering Hills are all ACA accredited.

WHY GIRL SCOUT CAMP?

Girl Scout camp is all about girls! In a supportive, fun environment girls learn to work together as a team, make decisions, and take responsibility for their actions. They develop their creative abilities, build independence and self-reliance, learn new skills, and gain confidence.

At River Valleys Girl Scout Camp girls will discover, connect, and take action as they develop hands-on leadership skills. Camp offers a framework for girls to create their own experiences, reflect on them, and apply what they learn to new challenges. Above all, girls gain leadership skills through activities that match what they say they want: to belong and to have fun.

ALL GIRLS WELCOME

Girl Scout summer camp is about being with old friends and making new ones. Girls are welcome to bring friends from their school, their neighborhood, or anywhere! Girls who are not yet a registered Girl Scout are welcome to attend any of our camps. Just send the $10 membership fee in with the camp registration form. This will be applied to an annual membership in the Girl Scouts.

TALENTED AND CARING STAFF

With our thorough selection process and quality training, you can have peace of mind knowing your camper is in good hands. Selection of camp staff is based on experience, the ability to serve as a role model, and a genuine desire to work with girls. All staff members must complete a comprehensive screening process which includes an interview, reference checks and a background check.
