Learn about Girl Scouting

A new member event is an informational session that helps you meet others and learn about becoming a Girl Scout. Events are organized by local volunteers and staff, so each one is a little different. Most include:

  • An informational presentation about Girl Scouts
  • Activities for girls led by local Girl Scouts
  • Opportunities for troop leadership and other volunteer roles
  • Forming troops and registering for membership

Helpful things to bring:

  • A family calendar or schedule (for coordinating troop meeting times)
  • $12 membership fee for each registering girl or adult (financial assistance is available through Grants for Girls and Adults)
  • Ideas of how you’d like to support your new Girl Scout
