Girls Guide to Girl Scouting Insert: Girl Scout Highest Awards

Girl Scout Gold Award

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award in Girl Scouting. Generations of young women have made a difference in their communities both locally and globally.

Gold Award presentation

The Gold Award presentation is your opportunity to share your Gold Award project.

  • Meet individually with the Gold Award committee members and/or council program staff. Your troop leader, project advisor, or parent are not permitted to participate in the meeting.
  • The committee members can help you with some of the more complicated aspects of the project, including:
    • Leadership: Engage in active leadership that allows you to involve others in the community and makes use of your individual skills and talents
    • Sustainability: Ensure that your project has a lasting impact and continues to affect change in your community, even after your project is complete
    • Budget: Use your resources wisely to have the most cost-effective project
    • Timeline: The majority of the time on your project should be spent in a leadership role
  • Ensure that your plan meets the standards and requirements set by Girl Scouts of the USA for the Gold Award.
  • Gain valuable experience in making a presentation.

Girl Scout Silver Award

The highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn, the Silver shows you are a leader who is organized, determined and dedicated to improving your community.

Girl Scout Bronze Award

The highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve, the Bronze leadership adventure allows you and your team to plan and complete your project.
