Water Quality Pledge

On October 13, 2012, River Valleys will implement the largest environmental take-action project in its history. Join the sisterhood and make the world a better place by participating in local community clean-ups! Everyone is encouraged to participate–friends, families, schoolmates, alumnae and members of the community.

Commit to taking personal actions in your daily lives that help protect and conserve our water and its quality. Take the pledge today!

I pledge to work with my family and friends to improve and save water by:
- Turning off the water while I brush my teeth.
- Keeping the gutters and curbs clear of grass clippings and leaves, and properly disposing of them.
- Properly disposing of hazardous chemicals and not throwing them down the storm drains and sewers.
- Picking up my pet’s waste and disposing of it properly.
- Using a broom, not a hose, to clean decks, driveways and sidewalks.
- Taking the 5 minute shower challenge.
- Raise community awareness by telling others what I have learned about water quality and challenging them to this pledge.
- Participating in 60 minutes of water quality activities with my troop.
- Helping to make the world a better place by participating in the Centennial Day of Service on October 13, 2012.
