On June 9, Girl Scouts will be taking to new heights and going Over the Edge in an urban rappel off the US Bank Building in downtown Rochester. Three brave ConnectZ Girl Scouts are ready to take on the adventure and are fearlessly rappelling to help raise money for their beloved Camp Edith Mayo in Rochester. When the girls heard about Over the Edge through their troop leader, they jumped at the opportunity without batting an eye.
All graduating seniors, Tanesha, Dekha, and Tashara are joining their troop leader in the rappel event, learning the ins and outs of personal fundraising and campaigning for a cause. The ConnectZ Team is taking to the streets to share the challenges Girl Scouts has helped them overcome and the exciting capital improvement project for Camp Edith Mayo. While rappelling may seem scary, the girls have embraced the opportunity to try something new and take risks in a big (and safe!) way.
Dekha says, “I like Girl Scouts because we always learn how to help each other and other people. We always learn new things every time.” She wants to go Over the Edge to share this message with the community and be a fearless leader for other girls in the program. She says, “I also really want to go Over the Edge because I like doing new things to challenge myself!”
Fearless leaders come in all walks of life and Girl Scouts sees them each and every day. Over the Edge gives our passionate Girl Scout supporters a voice in the community and a chance to be a fearless leader for all girls! Take a peek at the other amazing Girl Scout staff, service units, troops, and alumnae who are also taking the leap for leadership and going Over the Edge on June 9. All participants are listed on the registration page and are sharing their stories and taking donations via their individual fundraising pages to support Girl Scouts and Camp Edith Mayo.
