The seventh annual Women of Distinction event is only a few weeks away, which will bring together Girl Scouts, River Valleys’ staff, and the larger community to celebrate the amazing things that girls are doing across the region. This program honors female leaders in the community who exemplify the Girl Scout mission and who are leading the way to make the world a better place.
Over the last few months, all of the honorees participated in local Girl Scout ConnectZ events throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul. In meeting with troops, the honorees are continuing to provide powerful mentorship opportunities for girls in the community. Each of the five Women of Distinction honorees eagerly put on a sash and became a Girl Scout for the day, diving right into troop activities. Some of their favorite events were the Project Girl workshop and the Girl Empowerment Movement event.
Throughout the award process, several ConnectZ Girl Scouts were invited to join the ranks of the CEO’s and executive leaders at their offices and places of work. The girls saw firsthand the day-to-day lives of these amazing women and experienced what it really takes to be an empowered female leader!
On April 7, the 2016 Women of Distinction honorees will receive their awards and share their personal stories and reflections on how being a Girl Scout has impacted them, whether they have been a Girl Scout all their lives or are joining the sisterhood for the first time. Hear their personal stories at the Women of Distinction Event on Thursday, April 7, 2016!
