Congratulations to Justice Wilhelmina Wright – Girl Scout alumna, former River Valleys Board member, and 2011 Women of Distinction Honoree – for making history as the first female African-American federal district judge in Minnesota!
Justice Wright will bring a wealth of experience to this new position. With over 25 years of legal experience, she is the only Minnesota jurist to serve as a state district court judge, appellate court judge, and state Supreme Court justice. Wright also possesses a strong connection to communities in Minnesota, where she has served as a board member at Girl Scouts River Valleys, Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra.
