On October 24, a group of River Valleys Brownies and Juniors put their creative minds to work by participating in “Innovation Sensation,” a council event created in partnership with Fish and Richardson, a top patent litigation firm with a campus in the Twin Cities. Girls learned the process of developing a product of their own design and the steps to go through protecting their new innovation, with the help of some adorable stuffed animals!
Brownies completed steps toward the Inventor badge, Juniors worked on their Product Designer badge, and all girls received a special Intellectual Property patch.
Fish and Richardson is excited to continue its partnership with Girl Scouts in providing opportunities for girls to create, work as a team, and learn important concepts. When asked what she learned at the event, one Girl Scout replied that “we can all be inventors!”
If your girl has a flair for invention, Fish and Richardson also offers field trips for Girl Scouts. And don’t forget to check out our upcoming council events for more opportunities for girls to learn and explore!
