Girl Scouts River Valleys Appoints New CEO

news-post-tisha-bolger-new-ceoGirl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys is proud to announce that our Board of Directors has appointed Tish Bolger as our new chief executive officer. She has more than sixteen years experience as a senior executive with Girl Scouts – most recently as River Valleys’ chief operating officer since 2007. Bolger previously served in key leadership roles with the legacy Greater Minneapolis and St. Croix Valley Girl Scout councils where she was involved in every aspect of the business. She will succeed outgoing CEO Linda B. Keene, who announced her intent to retire earlier this year.

“Tish is a forward-thinking, dynamic and engaging leader who demonstrates a synergistic alignment and a strong commitment to River Valleys’ strategic vision, said Amy Kroll, River Valleys’ Board Chair. “Her deep industry knowledge and tenure with our organization make her uniquely qualified for this position.”

During her 25-year career, Bolger has also served in leadership positions with the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation in St. Paul and Alpha House Youth Services in Wisconsin. She is currently Board Chair for the American Camp Association, a national association dedicated to youth development and quality camp programs. Tish holds a master’s degree in recreation and outdoor education from the University of Minnesota, and a bachelor of arts degree from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Her first day as CEO will be October 26, 2015.

Please join us in congratulating Tish!

Congratulations, Tish. It was a pleasure as a volunteer Instructor of Trainers working with you at the Greater Mpls. office. We shared an enjoyment of sled dogs and I appreciated your thoughtfulness of sending me a thank you card with husky pups on them. We now live in Alaska and my days of mushing have gone but I still enjoy others’ dogs and get to see races periodically. Diana
