Girl Scouts River Valleys is excited to partner with Allina Health again this year to bring healthy living resources to girls. One of River Valleys’ core focus areas is our Healthy Living program, with nearly 80,000 activity plans downloaded each year! Through two Allina Health resources, Health Powered Kids™ and Change to Chill™, girls build skills to improve their overall wellbeing by keeping their minds and bodies healthy, creating and maintaining healthy relationships with others, and creatively expressing themselves and their ideas.
Health Powered Kids
Health Powered Kids (HPK) activities and resources are developed by industry professionals and enhance the Girl Scout Healthy Living program. HPK activities align with Girl Scout badges to offer troop leaders and girls additional resources. To learn more, visit the HPK Girl Scouts page or the River Valleys troop activity plans. After completing two HPK badge activities, girls can earn a free Allina Health patch! Complete the Healthy Living Form and pick up your patches at one of River Valleys’ shops!
Change to Chill
A new online resource called Change to Chill is now available for girls in grades 6-12. Reducing stress isn’t always about changing your life – sometimes it’s about changing the way you deal with it. Change to Chill is a great resource that helps girls identify stress and its triggers, and provides techniques to manage stress and recharge.
The Chiller Challenge is a photo and video contest with a cause. Show us how you chill by creating your own Chiller. Chillers are visuals that help us slow down and step back from stress. Winning chillers are featured on changetochill.org. It’s time to Change to Chill! Girls, click here to take the Chiller Challenge!
