This year, the Girl Scouts of the USA partnered with Taste of Home for the first ever National Girl Scout Cookie Recipe Contest. Among its finalists was River Valleys Girl Scout, Natalie Berg, for her dessert creation inspired by her favorite Girl Scout cookie, Samoas. Natalie and her mother Michele created a chocolate Coconut Chantilly Pie which alternates layers of pie crust, chocolate pudding mixed with Samoas, and whipped cream mixed with toasted coconut.
This delicious dessert was chosen as one of the 16 finalists, which earned them a trip to New York to appear on The Today Show. Natalie and Michele were also featured on WCCO and the Star Tribune for their tasty treat and national recognition.
