Volunteer at Little Farm Hands + Get in Free to the State Fair

volunteer at the state fair as a farm hand

Girl Scouts River Valleys invites your troop or family to volunteer at Little Farm Hands at the Minnesota State Fair!

If you sign up for a 3.25-hour shift on Saturday, September 5, or Sunday, September 6, you can enjoy the Minnesota State Fair before and after your shift for free!

To sign up for a shift, email Virginia R. Mold, Agriculture Specialist, Minnesota State Fair, at virginia.mold@mnstatefair.org or 651- 288-4440. This volunteer opportunity is recommended for ages nine and older. Please plan to have at least one adult for every five girl volunteers.

Little Farm Hands at the Fair is an agricultural education exhibit for children, ages 3–12. Children become farm hands at this free, hands-on exhibit as they experience the agricultural process—beginning at the farm and ending at the market. Little Farm Hands needs the help of many volunteers to guide children and their families through the various miniature barns. The job of the volunteer is to help the farm hands maximize their experience by making sure each simple step is completed. Visit Little Farm Hands for more information.
