Cake-A-Maga was a great success again this year! On March 14, 330 girls, families, and community members joined us at Camp Lakamaga for a wonderful pancake, sausage, and maple syrup breakfast. Even with the chilly temperatures the sap was running and everyone enjoyed themselves.
After breakfast, girls and their families enjoyed several different activity stations around camp. They learned how to tap a maple tree, boil down sap into syrup, and identify a maple tree. Taste testing of several types of syrups was a big hit with the sugar-free artificial type winning as favorite. After learning about tree rings, participants were able to make their own tree cookie necklace. Thank you to all who came and helped make this day extra special!
