Picture yourself as a young Girl Scout.
You crave adventure, you’re confident, and you’re passionate about making the world a better place.
You want to go somewhere new, do something different, and meet other Girl Scouts from around the globe.
But what if you didn’t have the resources to accomplish all that?
Leah, a local Girl Scout, wanted to participate in the Outward Bound Costa Rica Sea Turtle Retreat, but unfortunately couldn’t afford the costs.
Girl Scouts River Valleys helped Leah make her dream a reality.
Through a grant from our travel endowments, Leah was able to have an unforgettable nine-day trip. Leah describes her experience:
“My trip was truly life changing. People say that about almost every trip, but it never becomes any less true. This experience helped me develop more and more into the person I am meant to become. Being part of something so much bigger than myself was remarkable. I can’t thank Girl Scouts River Valleys enough for this opportunity!”
While in Cost Rica, Leah helped collect sea turtle eggs, patrolled beaches, and even helped package eggs into bags. Apart from her hard work, Leah had some fun too. She hiked around a volcano, zip-lined through the tropics and shopped at a local market—all while bonding with 25 other Girl Scouts from around the country.
Leah went somewhere new, did something different, and met other Girl Scouts just like her. She also made the world a better place.
Without Girl Scouts River Valleys, Leah wouldn’t have had this incredible opportunity. Every year we are supporting life-changing experiences, just like Leah’s.
If you can dream it, you can do it with Girl Scouts.
