When GSRV Development Officer, Steve Sanders arrived in Cannon Falls to meet with Colleen Schultz, he came bearing gifts. To the surprise of Colleen, she was presented with a letter of appreciation, a 60-year pin as a lifetime member, and of course, boxes of cookies.

Surrounded by friends and a reporter from the Cannon Valley Beacon, Steve presented the award on behalf of the board.

Said Steve, “We are always amazed and humbled at the dedication of our Girl Scouts volunteers. They are the life force of Girl Scouts. Colleen truly has given a lifetime of commitment for the cause of developing girl leaders.”

Colleen joined the Girl Scouts in second grade and over the years built the confidence and skills that served her well as she and many friends moved through the ranks. And, the Girl Scout tradition didn’t stop with her.

“My daughter earned the Gold award as did two of my granddaughters, so Girl Scouting is kind of in the family.”

Congratulations to you Colleen and thank you for all you’ve done for Girl Scouts!
