On April 16, more than 720 guests joined the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys at the 2014 Women of Distinction luncheon to honor seven remarkable women leaders.
River Valleys is proud to honor women who lead by example, inspire girls to pursue their dreams, and give back to their communities.
Each honoree’s story was told through a video, featuring advice for the next generation of leaders.

The event raised more than $210,000 through gifts, a silent auction, and sponsorships. Cathy Wurzer, radio anchor from MPR, emceed the event, which highlighted the great accomplishments and impact made by each honoree.
The event theme was “Lead, Inspire, Give,” and the honorees’ careers and service exemplifies the leadership qualities the Girl Scout experience instills in girls. Attendees were inspired by a special personal story delivered by a dedicated River Valleys volunteer, Lisa Chatman, a Girl Scout parent and troop leader who has also served as a delegate, troop cookie manager, and service unit coordinator.
Thank You for Giving
All the proceeds from Women of Distinction will be used to provide financial assistance to girls who would otherwise be unable to afford Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts River Valleys thanks all those who invested in the next generation of women leaders!
Save the Date!
