Get ready for an exciting event on June 14—a special Fifth Harmony concert just for Girl Scouts River Valleys!
The concert will reward the efforts of thousands of local girls who collected food for Feed the Need, a program to educate girls about hunger in Minnesota.
Hugely popular with girls and tweens, the bilingual quintet started as individual performers on X Factor in 2012 before joining together to create the rising pop powerhouse Fifth Harmony. The five singers—Dinah Jane Hansen, Lauren Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Normani Hamilton, and Camila Cabello—have two songs on Twin Cities radio stations. Me & My Girls and Miss Movin’ On are quickly becoming anthems for young girls about the power of friendship and girl empowerment.
In the six weeks leading up to the June 14 concert, girls from the 49-county council will learn about hunger awareness, nutrition, and healthy living. Girls will also collect food donations that will then benefit their local communities. This is the second year for the Feed the Need program in Girl Scouts River Valleys. Earlier in 2013, efforts resulted in 22,000 pounds of food donated to community food shelves.
“At Girl Scouts, we strive to build girls of courage, confidence, and character while having a lot of fun,” said Linda Keene, CEO of Girl Scouts River Valleys. “We are so excited to welcome Fifth Harmony into our celebration of community service and sisterhood. This concert will be a memory the girls keep with them forever.”
Only Girl Scouts River Valleys members will be able to purchase tickets. Ticket purchase information will be available in 2014.
