Camp provides girls with unique opportunities and the chance to make new friends while spending time outdoors. From kayaking on Big Marine Lake to playing basketball on the camp’s outdoor court, the possibilities for exploration are endless.
Kesley, a member of Troop 43057, has been attending Girl Scout Camp for the past two years. This summer, she chose to attend a 6-day Connections program at Camp Lakamaga.
“This camp is my favorite because you get to pick what you do,” Kesley explained. These trips allow Girl Scouts to choose from activities like canoeing, archery and hiking to gain skills in the areas that they’re interested in discovering.
Natalie, another member of Troop 43057, chose archery as one of her camp activities. Referring to using a bow and arrow, she explained, “It’s fun to get to use something you don’t normally get to.”
